The City has been working closely with the community over several years to ensure your voices are heard in shaping the future of Bluff Point’s coastline. Here’s how we’ve engaged with you:

Previous consultation

  • 2016 – Initial community engagement
    • Presentation at the Coastal Adaptation Planning Forum
    • Informed the community about CHRMAP and their involvement
  • 2017 to 2018 – Engagement informing the CHRMAP
    • Coastal Planning Community Survey to identify priorities and concerns
    • Coastal Planning Workshops to explore ideas and solutions together
    • Information Sessions to share updates with and receive feedback from the community

Current engagement (2024)

  • A Community Webinar was held on 10 October 2024
  • The webinar was recorded and is now available on the project website here
  • Community values survey to understand if Bluff Point community values from previous community engagement had changed

Your previous input highlighted the most valued community assets are:

  • Rundle Park
  • Coastal pathways and cycling paths
  • Beaches, including St Georges Beach
  • Sand dunes / coastal vegetation / fauna
  • Homes / Property

 

How your feedback will be used

Your feedback has been, and will continue to be, a crucial part of the process. These community priorities are being carefully considered while determining the preferred coastal adaptation option for Bluff Point. The City is committed to ensuring that the chosen solution reflects the values and needs of the community while addressing the challenges of coastal erosion.
