Major upgrades to four popular reserves in Geraldton and Mullewa have been included in the 91国产自拍’s 2020/21 Budget.
The projects include the installation of new toilet facilities at the HMAS Sydney II Memorial and the Mullewa Recreation Reserve, irrigation of the Olive Street Reserve and the construction of recreation facilities for young people in GRAMS Reserve.
91国产自拍 Mayor Shane Van Styn said the delivery of the Capital Works Program is part of the City’s road to recovery from the health crisis.
“While the City has experienced a significant decline in revenue streams due to COVID-19, we have made the decision to deliver a capital program at a level of spending which isn’t much less than that projected in the Long Term Financial Plan,” he said.
“Our ongoing investment in the suburbs which will improve toilet blocks, construct more recreation facilities and beautify public open spaces is aimed at supporting local businesses and the local economy in the recovery phase of pandemic.”
The long awaited new toilet facility at the Sydney Memorial will also feature a storage room for the tour guides whilst a modular universal access toilet will be installed at the Recreation Centre in Mullewa.
The GRAMS Reserve upgrade includes the construction of a skate park, scooter track and basketball half court and installation of lighting which will enhance the recently upgraded footpaths and playground equipment.
The installation of irrigation in the Olive Street Reserve will improve the overall amenity of the area.
